Little League Opening Day

Today was opening day for Little League… It was a beautiful day but the wind was incredibly cold. Brett & Penelope had to be at the field early for team pictures- he called & let me know to be prepared for the wind (thank you , Sweetie!) I would not have known, the sun made the day look mild and perfect but it was FAR from mild. We arrived in time for opening ceremony which was (thankfully) shorter than last year and at the ceremony, Penelope was picked to throw the first ball of the season.

She did great! Finn was more excited about the Chik-fil-a cow who was at the ceremony. It’s amazing to see the change in Finn’s interest in costumed characters, a year ago he would look but refuse to even go near a costumed character but today he was yelling full voice “ Cow!!! Cow!!!” He quieted down when he realized Penelope was pitching (since the cow was standing behind the catcher.) ANd he finally got his picture with the cow:

While Brett, Bradley & Teagen were getting their team photos taken, Grandpa was helping Penelope's team get warmed up for their game. We arrived to see the game. The team did great(they were so cute!) Afterwards, we spent a few hours resting at home and then it was time for Bradley & Teagen's game. The boys played hard and though they didn't win, they showed true team spirit in the way the cheered their team mates on. I am very proud of them.

Good stuff!
