I'm sick of sick! Pinewood Derby

Since ringing in the New Year, we have had five- yes- five sick people in this house. Penny started it, then Teagen & Bradley followed then Phineas & now me! It's a virus but a yucky one at that. Finn had a dangerously high fever (in fact, he had his first ambulance ride to the hospital-with Mommy by his side- where they checked him out and two hours later declared "It's a virus.") My instructions were to control the fever and call if he gets worse. He's well now- still coughing but energetic as can be- I'm the one who's coughing and has the faucet where my nose used to be. Even with all of the illness we have had alot of creativity going on here. My scrapbooking stash has been raided for cars!!

Last weekend was the Pinewood Derby!!! It was sooo much fun! Each of the kids had their own car (though Finn used his car from last year since his new car broke beyond repair at home on the morning of the race.)

Yes, my husband is very skilled at making faces for the camera.

Finn's car is the Turquoise one with the yellow duckies on it.

Penny's car is the rainbow shaped car with the (chipboard) stars and glitter.

Teagen's is the green one (in this picture, you can't see all of the details but it resembles a football field) and Bradley's is the Wii-mote car, as we call it.

The kids (and Brett) worked hard on their cars and had a BLAST at the Derby! It was a long day made longer by a much needed date night (thank you John & Kathy!!) Brett and I dropped the kids off at Grandma & Grandpa's for dinner and went to the movies to see Valkyrie (Brett's pick.) Not a movie I ever would have chosen but it was truly excellent!
